Hi! My name is Jake Simpson, and I am a 2014 graduate of the Secondary Education program at Western Governors University. First of all, I’d like to welcome you to my portfolio. In this portfolio, you will find numerous documents recording my beliefs and experiences throughout my college career. It is my hope that through these documents, you will be able to understand my beliefs about education and be able to observe my abilities as a teacher.
Having spent numerous hours in the field learning about the history and current practices of education, my belief that education plays a key role in the development of society is continually strengthened. I believe that teachers play an extremely vital role in the development of children, and I take this role extremely seriously. My goal as a teacher is to raise conscientious individuals who will be able to think critically while seeking to live in harmony with one another. It is my hope that you will be able to see my beliefs and goals reflected throughout this portfolio, and I hope you will take the time to read through the material that I have put together.
